Yes, Each test is customized for you based on your birth control and the regularity of your period.

We recommend bringing your results to the doctor who prescribed it and they can walk you through exactly how your treatment interacts with your hormones. Some of the medications that can influence the results on your Yesmom test include:

  • Anti-acid and antihistamine medication

  • Antidepressants

  • Anti-anxiety medication

  • Anti-psychotics

  • Anti-seizure/ anticonvulsant medication

  • Blood pressure medication

  • Blood thinning medication

  • Clomid (and other medications used to induce ovulation)

  • Hormone treatments, including steroid hormones

  • Naloxone

  • NSAIDs (including aspirin)

  • Medications used for treating Parkinson’s

  • Prednisone

  • Thyroid medication

If you’re currently suffering from an acute illness, we recommend holding off on testing until you feel better as your condition can affect the hormonal balances in your body.

The Yesmom test is more effective for women ages 21-45. We work closely with physicians to research and review every piece of content, and we are unable to generate reports for ages outside of the specified age range for which the reports have been approved.

How to Test

If you’re not on hormonal birth control you’ll test on the third full day of your period. If you are on hormonal birth control, you can test at any time during the month. Many of the hormones we test for peak in the morning and can fluctuate throughout the day, so we recommend testing first thing in the morning to get the clearest read.

Depending on which hormones your test is measuring, you may need to fast for 8 hours before taking your test. This is because eating can cause certain hormones to spike above their baseline. If fasting is required for your test, we’ll let you know. We recommend testing first thing in the morning, before you’ve had breakfast. (Water is fine!)

Results

Your Yesmom report comes with personalized explanations around each fertility hormone, what your levels mean, and what you can do about them. We dive into the background of why each hormone is important for fertility and what your level means for your response to egg freezing and IVF, details around menopause timing, and more.

Testing your ovarian reserve, over time can give you a better sense of your fertility curve than just relying on age estimates alone. Ovarian reserve can also help you understand potential outcomes for egg freezing and IVF and detect future red flags.

After the licensed pathologist have safely taken the sample needed, taken the necessary information needed to customize your test, you will get a notification once it arrives at our lab. The lab will then review the questionnaire and mark down what hormones are ought to be tested. The results comes into us and an independent clinician reviews the results directly. When your results are ready to be viewed we will send you an email with both our own curated analysis of the raw results, as well as the lab’s own raw data report.

We recommend that you always talk to a doctor. With your Yesmom report, you’ll have crucial information and prepared to have a conversation outlining your options. It is important to note (and we cannot stress this factor enough), a fertility test is not a crystal ball of your reproductive health. Keeping track of your hormones helps you get ahead in the discussion with your doctor to outline what could be done.

Yes, our report comes with both the lab results and our own curated report. We also include a doctor discussion guide to help you discuss with your doctor about your own fertility health.
